Lately, I have "studying" Klinghardt...sad to admit how much time I spend reading all this stuff....

He essentially says that he has yet to see a lyme patient that is NOT loaded with parasites and that you need to treat the parasites first. He says if you don't,you will only get so far.

My latest LLMD (who I really don't trust anyway...) has never uttered a word about parasites....

Thoughts? BTDT anyone?

While I was waiting for my first LLMD appt I did an insane parasite cleanse… probably shouldn't have given the very fragile state of my health. But I am pretty certain I have parasites. One huge clue was during a cleanse I was drinking only veggie juices (overdosing, basically--will never do that again) and taking a ton of parasitic herbs and completely overwhelmed my body. But on the 10th day I was ready to start eating food again and prepared a bowl of lentil soup and as I was bringing the spoon to my mouth, I had the craziest "jumping" or "lurching" sensation throughout my mouth, throat and stomach. My theory is that the aroma of the food got the parasites all worked up since they had not been fed in so long… Of course, this could also be delirium. I was pretty sick.

Anyway, I spoke w/ my LLMD about parasites when we first started and she wanted to focus on my high viral and fungal load instead. So we did that and also my GI issues started to calm down by then so we moved on to lyme & co treatment. But I have also read that most lyme & co patients also have parasites. In fact, I think most people have parasites but the healthier bodies just don't have as much of a challenge as we do.

But in general, I think your body and immune system can only handle so much. I think if your treatment is in a good place and you're making progress, it's a good idea to look into the parasites (although testing can be very inconclusive—just like everything else).

And most importantly—can you find a better LLMD? Is that a possibility for you? You really can't rely on an LLMD you do not trust… please let us know how things go!

Unfortunately, I really cannot find a better LLMD. You would think that in NYC there would be more options....

Yes, ita that we all have parsasites and that they are much more of an issue in lyme patients than in "regular" people.

I have made some progress, but after 9 months I would have hoped to have made a lot more...(my husband thinks it's because I'm not taking antibiotics, but doing Zhang protocol instead....)

I did take Zhang's artemisiae for about 5 months for Babesia and maybe that targets some other parasites??

ugghhh… NYC. I sure miss Caracas and all my fav brunch places… the watering hole around the corner from my office… and walking the streets in the middle of the night… but I do not miss any of my doctors. WOW. what a disaster. Can you get to the suburbs? Somewhere on Amtrak headed north?? I moved away before realizing I had lyme & co so unfortunately I have no suggestions. But I would definitely flee the city for help. So sorry you are stuck.

I did a lot of research on parasites last year but unfortunately I really don't remember it. I start doff with eating 6 raw garlic solves a couple times a day and other natural remedies like that and I remember I was taking a formula of herbs that I found at Whole Foods—that was incredibly strong but can't remember the name—some play on "parasites" IIRC.

I remember reading a lot about Dr Hulda Clark's protocol but never tried it. I also found a list of possible remedies in some old notes:
Arbonne's Foaming Body
DSP
Parastroy
Humaworm
Hanna Kroeger Wormwood Combo
Super Digestaway by Soloray digestive enzymes (also antiparasitic)
Coconut Oil
Coconut Water
Salt/c (lymestrategies salt/c group for more info)

I've been listening to Dr. Klinghardt a lot as well. In one of his lectures he says that he used to work in a lab in India, and he learned there that one has a half hour from when poop is collected, to when in can be detected...after that it will come out negative, and is a miracle that we sometime get positive parasite tests. He also mentioned somewhere else, that sometimes, during treatment for parasites, then it starts to show on labs.

Personally, I have experiance with this. I started taking mimosa pudica for parasites (feel free to emal me name of pharmacy of where I get it). Was on it for a couple months, then I started seeing weird things in my poop (sorry if it's TMI), googled it, and many said it was parasites...Only then my test went from negative to posititive....
Dr. K gives some scripts for a couple weeks/months for parasites, so I bring my positive labs to Dr.'s and say...I have parasites...only took herbs...and still have the itching...they say..."oh, your'e herbs won't kill that, see, you are still symptomatic...here's a week of antiparasitics'...then they scratch their heads, since my labs still come out positive...and they write more scripts, especially, since their past meds didn't get rid of it...and they keep re-occuring. LOL, it's fun to see their reaction, as they start writing a script!
There is also a over the counter med for parasites, think it is called PinX...Not sure if that's what Dr. K uses, I think other prescription meds are more effective.

Thanks for that info—I had not read that you have a 1/2 hr window… no wonder my tests are always negative.

check this out....here is his protocols for practitioners...looks like after a couple weeks/months on meds he does 18 months of herbals.... wooeee. Intense killing there.

P - Dr. Klinghardt says parasites holds onto metals, bacteria and other microbes....So he doesn't give meds that splat them open...as it releases the toxins. Perhaps that is why you felt soooo sick, at the time of parasite cleanse.
