Sometimes I wonder if we will ever get out of this

Just beginning my herbal treatment, as you all know. So I have a renewed hope of getting past lyme. But at the same time, I had a lot of hope when I did my antibiotic treatment, and that didn't work.
Sometimes I wonder if it is really even possible to get out of lyme disease.
I hope we can.

Remember that healing is part physical and part mental. Look for a way to turn negativity into something positive and your healing will be quicker.

Someone here recently posted about how they suddenly had a good feeling moment and the world was good. Then the moment passed and they were feeling sick again. If we can find a way to "create" some of those good moments then our burden will be less heavy and our healing quicker.

There seem to be some people who do get better. But does everyone? I've been treating for 3 months and I don't feel any better yet! Nothing!

Katebirch, everyone is different. I had three doctors, many different combinations of ABX over 3.5 years. Now I am on herbals and supplements along with acupuncture.

I remember feeling suicidal because I would never get better....at least that is what my brain was saying. I tried to re-wire my brain with the words happy, healthy and hopeful. This is still my mantra that I recite daily. Luckily for me I am feeling great and have lost the majority of my symptoms which are too numerous to list here. I still have the occasional brain slip, or fatigue but nothing out of the ordinary.

Hang in there with the herbals, as you know there are many to try. In the mean time keep focused on whatever you can that is positive. I know it is hard as I have been where you were. Keep the faith.

flowergal - would you post a little more - timeline - if you treated for over 3 years...is it that last bit -getting to 100% you've been working on for a while?

Haven't posted in a while but I've been on doxy ,Clindamycin, azithromycin, and penicillin V K for over three months and have very little improvement. I'm hoping to start herbals next month if I can afford it, but I don't have much hope for getting better. Sick for so long don't see much light at the end of this tunnel. Everyone keeps telling me I should not give up hope but I guess I'm not very good at being hopeful. Too many things against me ,Can't get mold cleaned out of house ,cost thousands of dollars ,treatment at LLMD cost thousands of dollars , herbals cost Hundreds of dollars a month ,What do poor people do when they have this. I guess we just suffer and die. Can't get right treatments from infectious disease doctor because all my test come back negative. Had a couple of positive bands but not enough for a diagnosis. co infections all came back negative. doctor still believes this is what I have because I had a tick bite 25 years ago and have all the symptoms except some of the major ones like bells palsy and heart problems. he is treating by symptom only and can't give me some treatments because of negative tests.

Hi. I have to look for the list of all the previous medications. I know I was on Doxy at first that was so hard on me, made me sicker than ever. Then I was on Zithromax and Mepron for several months. Then Sulfamethoxzole (Bactrim) and Tindazole (250mg) combination for a year or so along with the malarone for Babesia. Then I stopped the Tindazole and was just taking Bactrim three times a day and Malarone 2 x a day. My LLMD believes slow and steady wins the race. Articles I have read suggest long term treatment with oral abx can be an effective way to kill these bugs.

This combined with hormones, cortisol, thyroid, liver support, multiple vitamins, sugar/gluten free diet seemed to all work together to make me well. The first year and a half were the worst, then the medicines made me sick in another ways hard to tell what was making me worse, meds or lyme etc. The yeast got really bad and that is when most of my symptoms were gone. The remaining ones I thought could be yeast related....anyway now on A Babs 15 drops in a.m. and 15 in p.m. Still taking hormones, supplements, probiotics, vitamins. Staying on low carb diet too, although since off ABX the yeast is gone so I can have a sandwich once in a while or pasta (low carb).

It is great to have a life again. I now have the stamina to stay up later and go visit my daughter where she works as a server. The doctor said I can also drink ( I know controversial) as long as I feel ok afterward. So am able to have a glass of dry red wine with a friend. The first night I was out people wanted to buy me drinks all night because they know how long it's been. But I had one drink and nursed it the whole night.

I still get a massage every time I can to release toxins, still do acupuncture, drink detox tea, sometimes do the sauna and detox baths. This is the first holiday in 4 years that I have not been "sick". I have been able to clean my house, shop, cook and clean. I cooked Thanksgiving this year all by myself wasn't sure I would ever be able to do that again. So stick with your plan to get well..include what you can, if you aren't getting better switch things up, meds, doctors whatever.

If I have to stay on this regimen forever I am ok with that. Give yourself a mantra of positive thoughts and surround yourself with only positive people. I have one friend who has stuck by me the whole time while others fell away. She was tremendously helpful in keeping me connected with the world. You can get well!

Let's not forget that those that have healed from long term infections have used things to treat more than just the infections. As you can see in Flowergal's post - she lists the abx she took, but also said: "This combined with hormones, cortisol, thyroid, liver support, multiple vitamins, sugar/gluten free diet seemed to all work together to make me well. "

The same goes for my story of healing from round 1 of infections - I did so much more than just treat the infections.

For each of us it will be a slightly different combination, but we have to treat all that's happening in the body, not just the infections.

I don't know if you knew that I had been reinfected - that's been slightly exciting. LOL! I'm back on the herbs that I used the first time that I healed from Lyme and seem to be doing well - although I am also tyring to heal from Addison's and a hypothyroid now as well. Complicates things a bit! LOL!
