The tablets were my first month of treatment. Some nausea and headache 10 minutes after taking them, especially in the mornings. Improved when I took the tabs with food. Then a one-week break from abx before the next round.
This is the second month of treatment; I told the pharmacist about my nausea and asked if I could try Doryx because I heard it's easier on the stomach. He said to try the doxy capsules, they should be easier on the stomach than the tabs. So I started on the capsules--had my first herx as soon as I started. When that finally ended after 12 days I thought I'd be fine. Nope. The nausea is much worse on the capsules. The other night I took a capsule with some ginger tea and was instantly sick. I actually vomited up the treatment about 15 minutes after taking it.
I suspect that the outer coating dissolves faster and lets more of the medicine into the bloodstream faster, and that's why I'm having a stronger reaction to it. I have to take it with food and with a cold liquid. If I take it with a hot liquid I get instantly sick, it must dissolve faster.
