My entire thigh is a tattoo haha. From my butt to past my knee is a giant tree of life with all kinds of other stuff. It's a tribute to my mom.
My dearest friend is the artist, and it's been 3 years in the making. It really is a giant space and I always needed a lot of healing time in between sessions. I haven't had it worked on in forever because I just feel like my body can't take it.
Before I ever knew I had Lyme I noticed after every session I'd feel horrible for about 4 days after. It seemed like it took me a really really long time to heal up. I know this exaggerated response is from my infections.
I'm wondering if this kind of trauma makes you herx? Or have a flare? It makes something mad that's for sure! I'm just curious to know the exact mechanism if anyone happens to know. Getting stabbed for 5 hours straight certainly gives your body a lot to deal with!
It will probably be another year or so before I feel like finishing it up :( but it is beautiful! In the summer when I'm wearing shorts I always think people are staring at my crotch and I check my zipper a lot haha. But they are just looking at the enormous splash of color on my entire thigh hahaha.
