my body forgot how to go to the bathroom :(

I have a strong urge to go number 2 or pass gas and I just cant. I counted how many times I went pee recently and it was 63! Between that and the puking I'm just not staying hydrated. I have no idea how to make myself stop peeing so much.

Ugh.... I've been taking my laxatives and everything. I need to go see the local herbalist and try something else. I've been trying this way for about a week with no luck. Time to move on.

Anyone here with interstitial cystitis? Or should I even think that I have IC? Do lots of people with Lyme have bladder and digestive issues?

I feel your pain... My bladder just started flaring up again this past week...nothing quite so frustrating as herxing to the point of barely being able to walk on your bambi legs and having to hobble to the bathroom 20 times a night...

Make sure you're drinking enough - counterintuitive but without enough fluid your body may actually go into overdrive trying to eliminate waste...

Other than that heat helps, anything that relaxes muscles a little and supposedly slippery herbs like marshmallow slippery elm aloe etc help but I've yet to give them a shot.

I assume this kind of stuff is pretty common with lyme... Anything that can be inflamed will!

When I was struggling with constipation ala hypothyroidism, I took Triphala which is am Ayervedic herbal preparation that is gentle yet effective.

I had to take as many as 6 tabs at one point but the stuff works.

I do suggest you discuss something like this with your doctor because Triphala affects certain enzyme levels and you certainly wouldn't want that interfering with your Lyme treatment.

I pee a heck of a lot since I started treatment. ..could be the Lyme, the abx, all the water....or all of the above :)

Thank you guys! I guess I just felt like complaining. I appreciate the suggestions and will talk to my doc about how to proceed.

The constant peeing is a total disruption of my life! And the constant urge to poo is just awful! No satisfaction in the bathroom these days :(

u have back pain too. is your pee dark, even with drinking? feel the urge to go frequently, but need to push to get out a few drops? Do you what your baseline GFR was, and what it is now? Might be time to consult with urology

I don't think it's an infection dying2getwell. I've been tested thousands of times and just recently last week. I've been peeing like this for about 6 years. It's just really bad right now. It kind of waxes and wanes like everything else.

I'm so sorry you keep having additional things to deal with. I hope that trend will start slowing down so you can have a break from the stress. Keep on fighting, hard as it is sometimes.

If you are interested in the herbs that I emailed to you about before, you can also order them at 1st Chinese Herbs, although you will have to order 1 lb of each at a time. All I can say is that there was nothing that going to different docs for years and years and trying all of their suggestions ever helped me until I tried those herbs.

No matter what you decide though, I feel for you and know what you are going through with this!! I'm so very sorry.

I know. It s--ks!

I either have diarrhea, or nothing, not even any urges.

I have to pee all the time, it seems, and sometimes I almost don't make it to the bathroom in time.

My body doesn't seem to want to tell me when I have to pee either.

If I've been sitting for awhile and stand up, that's when it tells me, and then if I don't run, I have, well, accidents (not very often), but yes, it does happen.
