Brand new to visiting this forum topic. I have a friend with positive IgG and IgM bands and am trying to help. I checked for a LLMD through the International lyme Assoc. And they gave the name of a pediatrician. How does one verify the training of a LLMD . If they sit through a two day seminar on the topic -- that doesn't seem to be enough for me. They also asked for donations to help train doctors about Lyme.

Does any member know of a good LLMD in or near our area. My friend is very, very upset and crying. My heart breaks . The family is concerned that it can be given to them through saliva, etc. What is the CORRECT stand on this topic. The net says yes and CDC says no.

This is so new to us and very scary. Very scary. Thanks for response. I've read the info posted at the top of the page.

It is possible that Lyme Disease could be transmitted sexually, but I'm not sure about saliva. If it was that easily transmitted, then I think everyone's family would also have lyme disease, which they don't.
I don't think it's known for sure whether or not it is passed on sexually...but it is known to pass from pregnant mother to her fetus.
