Friend's son continual throwing up form month

I have lyme and so does my husband and we have bartonella and babesia respectively but never had the throwing up thing.

My friends 20 year old son knows he had lyme but the doctors can't get to the bottom of the getting sick. He had colonoscopy and endoscopy but of course gastro drs said that lyme doesn't affect the digestive tract! DUH!

He has been getting sick everyday for months now. Has anyone had the throwing up thing and what helped or what coinfection it was?

I had severe dry heaving every day for 8 months and it didn't stop until I remediated for mold

Yes, I had a mold company come in and do a air quality test, because I was severely ill and docs could find nothing. I do have lyme too. I was shocked at the mold results because it was behind walls, nothing you could see. I had a professional mold company remove the mold but they had to take out some walls and insulation, it was expensive but worth it for my health.

Poor guy! Wow.

I would echo the mold suggestion… You can also do lesser expensive mold testing. If you suspect mold, check out www.survivingmold.com for other info.

Another possibility—
I ended up in ER Christmas Eve with a gall stone. ER doc suggested that vomiting was one common sx. Might want to check into a "stone" situation (perhaps not in gall bladder but could be elsewhere). Was a sonogram performed? CT scan?

I have lyme/Co and I throw up almost everyday. I'm constantly nauseous. I've had a lot of testing and nothing ever came up. I figure now that I'm in treatment I have a chance of getting past it. I've lost 15 pounds in a matter of a month. It's awful :(

I do a lot of ginger and peppermint teas. I also have prescriptions for the really bad times. I wish I had more advice.

Hi Springsjean,

Is he taking antibiotics? Some abx can make a person sick. The short time I took Doxy I threw it up because my stomach couldn't handle it.

Lyme, Babesia, Bartonella, parasites, and some viruses can all do this.

The above infections are known culprits in causing gastrointestinal dysmotility (e.g., Gastroparesis, dysphagia, constipation, diarrhea, dumping syndrome, etc.).

Gallstones/gallbladder malfunction is another possibility.

And food allergy can also do this. A food diary in combination with an elimination diet (avoid corn, wheat, beef, cow's milk/dairy, eggs, fish, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts for at least 2 weeks, then try one at a time) may help narrow down the allergen(s).

Mold can certainly do this, also.

My friend had serious gastro/lyme with nausea for a year and 1/2. She treated with Dr. S and eventually got well. THe only things I know she had were doxy and gse at one point as well as heavy probiotic. She had Dr. S for the bugs and a gastro specialist for the gut to heal.

I have these same exact symptoms. I mean 8-9 times any time I tried to eat. I went down to 109 (I'm 5'7 lets just say it didn't look good) I couldn't eat which meant I couldn't take medicine. We tried every single nausea med out there. We got desperate my doc put me on marinol- which is a drug they give cancer patients going through chemo- it's synthetic THC. Basically the Texas version of medicinal marijuana. It helped so much and it stimulated my appetite which had became nonexistent as I knew eating led to the worst flu like nausea ever. However obviously I can't walk around high everyday/ especially at work and school. So I too would love to know how everything turned out!

I recently had positive tests for lyme,babesia,bartonella,ehrlichia and brucella. I went through morning sickness with full body wave of nausea each morning for six months to a year, about two years later came down with ulcerative colitis
