Hi All - I am wondering if any of you experience this symptom as part of your Lyme illness. I will try to explain it to the best of my ability. I get extreme off balance / floaty / sinking sensations during food digestion it seems. I am trying to pin point the timing but it appears to be definitely after I eat and sometimes before having to go to the bathroom (not while going). I can sort of feel the gas build up or that creates this pressure sensation which actually makes me feel lightheaded, woozy, and off balance. It feels like I"m going to faint without fainting. Usually it goes away after I've gone to the bathroom or after the gas passes. Can anyone relate?

B4 i was Off gluten I would get irritable, a deep fatigue, muscle weakness headaches, whoozy, sometimes lightheadedness, and others whenever i eat it. Once i cleared all my allergens from my diet I can live normally after i eat.....do u eat gluten? Or have u been tested for food alleries? Sometimes u dont a skin reaction from those Injections when they test...many of reactions were subjective.

Interesting you say that - I do eat Gluten but wanted to look into this. I have never been tested for food allergies. How do I get tested, blood?

Good question - I went to my chiropractor, and he told me years ago to stay off gluten. He figured it out with kinesiology. Back then, I was able to tolerate my symptoms, so I enjoyed the gluten. However, after I had encephalitis I couldn't tolerate even something that said gluten free, if there were tiny amounts of gluten in it (legally, i think it can b certified GF with 20 parts per million). So i read ingredients. Once I listened, I felt better...was able to eat...and live.
If you want more objective data, there is a blood test looking for antibodies to gluten. Think its called antigliadin antibodies....but you MUST test while you are still eating gluten. If not the antibodies go down.
For other allergens, I think there is a blood test, not sure if they look at levels of IgE, or something else.
There are also the skin pricks, injecting the allergens under your skin, and looking for a reaction; however, my reactions were headache, irritable...so don't know.
U should be able to find more info about
accurate testing for gluten on thedr.com
Feel like its gotta be something your eating...cuz of all the GI symptoms it causes you...but also, gas and bloating can be from poor gut flora balance.
Does it happen after you eat yeast? carbs? Sugar? (feeds bad bacteria), but then it shouldn't go away so fast.
I guess I donno. Good luck.

How about
just eliminating gluten for a while to see how you feel. Then add it back and look for symptoms. For some, the protein casein in milk can be a problem as well.
This researcher thinks that gluten may not be the problem with grains; it is the microbiome destroying pesticides that are sprayed on all grains, conventional and GMO, that disrupts the function of gut bacteria - a major part of the body's immune system.

RoundUp is used not only as a pesticide, but as a desiccant as well. Many grains and legumes are dried down with glyphosate spray shortly before harvest.

Maybe your gas will make you float away like a balloon!!
I'm joking.
It sounds a little bit like POTS, and you might definitely have food allergies.
