CD57 test, your experience? Its accuracy/ usefulness as a tracking tool more doubted now.

I dont recall reading about this here.

1)Is your cd-57 # going up with treatment? Or just staying low?

2)What other lab tests have you used to track infection progress? Like c4a ect.

Our daughter's improved from 18 before treatment to 27 after 2 years of abx for bart. But during those 2 years, babesia was left untreated and can cause CD57 to remain low. This test is also not renowned for it's accuracy in children as their lymphocytes are not mature anyways.

My CD-57 number continues to decline… so not sure what that means… various theories. But I do know that LLMDs are looking to it as a means for determination far less than they used to. From what I've read, it's helpful in contest but does little as a stand-alone measurement.

My C4a was also confusing… maybe other posters can be more helpful.

My cd57 lingers in the upper 20s low 30s if I remember right. Abx did nothing to it. Suggested is over 50 or 60?

My C4a, was elevated and dropped several thousand to suggested levels while on abx. C4a is not specific to lyme though- its infection specific. Many infections I guess?

Yes, these two tests are supposed to go opposite directions as we heal.

Many LLMDs before believed it to be a good indication of how treatment is progressing. But it has been found later to not be the best indicator. Mycoplasma also reduces CD57 for example, and my LLND also said Bart can do the same thing.

There is someone I know with a high CD57 in the 300s!!! And guess what! She hasn't even started treatment yet! Lol

Mine just stayed low... It went from 36 to 37. At 37 I felt much better though.

My llmd didn't use this test. I asked about it and he said he doesn't think it does all that the other llmds claim it does. He treated me based only on how I told him I felt. I never had this test done.

"healthy" levels are said to be above 80 or above 100 or above 120—depending on who you believe. In general, anything below 60 is said to indicate you got prollems…
