This seems like something that could easily be overlooked. It has many similar symptoms to Lyme and babesia, however is treated with a different class of meds.

I wonder how common it actually is?

When my LLMD was first testing me she felt I had Bart and did the Fry Labs test for protomyxzoa rheumatica. This is what she uses to look for Bart. My test was positive. But I've been so overwhelmed with lyme treatment and the other things going on that I haven't really studied this much. I am taking Byron White A-Bart.

I just wonder if this could be a possible reason why people don't get better with Lyme/babs treatment. This infection requires a completely different class of drugs. Hmmmm...

Have you seen the Justin and Christa Vanderham story? A Canadian couple - she had lyme disease including FL 1953 - its an amazing story but a tearjerker. They went thru he-- to diagnose and treat her but it has a happy ending

i cant remember how they treated her - I know she went on a fat free diet but I cant remember if it was to treat the FL 1953 or somethkng else she had.

Google their name - I will post a link later when Im home.

Its one of my favorite lyme success stories. Maybe partly because they are from my Province here in Canada. :-)

Oh, that story tore me up. I watched a video Justin put on youtube early on in my diagnosis and went into a panic. It is very difficult to watch. I know they had a stuttering start to her treatment but eventually, the gained some ground. She was originally bitten in Australia, I believe, a country where "lyme doesn't exist". I had forgotten they Canadian but I remember their trips across the border to see MDs.

They even flew in their LLMD to see her when she was too ill to travel. I believe her Dr was M.R. from Seattle. Her childhood Dr basically said it was in her head!!!
Justin was soooo supportive - never wavering. Such a beautiful couple.
And they had a baby!!!

…I know. There will be quite a few people who disagree with me, but I want to some day, somehow, devise a communication to all the doctors in our collective histories who have failed us. And let them know not only how they failed us and the damage that has wrecked our lives, but also what they should do the next time someone walks into their office with clear indications of lyme & co.

Dr Fry has found multiple variants of Protomyxzoa and there are many others out there that could be causing trouble. It's not like there are a ton of people looking for them. I have a protozoan that may be Protomyxzoa, but it doesn't really matter what it is. To my knowledge, nothing has eradicated any of them. Many of you may have it as well and that is why I advocate dealing with the genetic and nutritional deficiencies more than the pathogens. If you can't methylate, conjugate, or use any of the other toxin elimination pathways, you won't be able to get rid of the pathogens. The pathogens, IMO, are symbiotic with us until we run out of nutrients. For some, it happens soon, for others, it may take years.

Here is an overview and a good resource of what your body needs to be able to do to get well. You may be lacking some of the components to use some of these pathways and it's essential you determine what you need to supplement with. Most with Lyme have an acetaldehyde problem from candida albicans and it overloads your pathway.

That makes a lot of sense, GH. Using the livewello.com site that astroman posted about, I was able to look into Gilbert's Syndrome, which I don't think I have. Still, your theory is very logical.
