This is my second thread about this and hoping to get some answers this time. I have a cold, it's not a herx or die-off, though some of it might be, but it's most assuredly a cold. My family, namely my father, has been sick for about a week. He's stubborn and refuses to take medicine anytime we tell him to and when he coughs, he won't cover his mouth. I understand the way the family dynamic is suppose to work, but there are time when we as children and adults need to reprimand our parents. I have much more thoughts on this subject but will not discuss them here and now as that is not my purpose for writing.
I was on amox for a little over four months, I stopped taking them on Dec. 30th and with the new year, I began taking herbs and supplements my LLMD gave me. It hasn't been easy, the first week I was so excited I took them all at the recommended doses instead of starting slow. I paid for it with some type of herxing that I haven't experienced in awhile. I backed off for a few days and slowly started to incorporate the antimicrobials back in, but at a much lower dose. For example, I'm taking Olive Leaf Extract and initially started with two pills three times a day with my meals. Right now I'm only taking two a day, one with breakfast and the other with dinner. I wanted to up it to three pills a day, but I've been sidetracked with this cold.
Is it safe to take cold medicine, like dayquil or robitussin with olive leaf and schisandra? I'm also doing multi-vitamins and supplements like Tox-Ease GL, Transfer Factor and Drainage Tone. I think the drainage tone is helping a bit with the sinuses, since that is what its used for, but I only take a dose in the morning and one in the evening before bed.
I'm hoping someone can give me a definitive answer. Oh and I called my LLMD and left a message, but I guess since it's a holiday so they left early.
