Hi everyone,
Sorry for the delay, delivery such as life - did not go as expected. Murphy's law I suppose. At 42 weeks no sign of baby coming so I was induced last friday on the 16th at a local hospital instead of the birth center. Long story short...I was remarkably pleased with about 80% of the staff and especially the doctors I saw. The sucky part...12, 12 VIALS of IV penicillin for + GBS...appears they gave my little one a hepatitis shot even though I told them not to <- will find more out about that. I labored from Saturday (active labor anyhow) at 8 am until 3 pm on Sunday before they called it and had to go in for a C-section. Discharged Wednesday afternoon. Quite a rough week. Back at home now, Liam's Igenex kit has arrived in Cali.
I will post pictures sometime later this week when I have more energy. I lost a lot of blood so I'm slowly turning back to my 'not yellow' state. They tried to put me on iron etc but I didn't want it so I'm taking my own vitamins that I know worked before and feeling a little better day by day.
Little Liam Bailey is very healthy, 7 lbs 15.3 ou, 20 3/4 inches long. Breastfeeding is going okay - no jaundice. Bloodwork so far all looks wonderful. I did speak of lyme to a lot of hospital ppl (had to explain the Igenex test a million times). I was happy by a lot of the responses. Some people when I said I had lyme freaked out (literally) until I said, " No not active, I was treated but it was in the months just ahead of when I got preggers.
Funny how when you don't want IV abx they shove 'em into you and when you really need 'em, you can't get 'em! I'm healing and recovering quite well which really makes me think that ya know if lyme was roaring back...I probably would have felt something by now or at the very least...not be recovering as fast as I am. You should see the improvements I've made in the past 48 hrs! Man it would've taken my body a month to do that with Lyme!
Wishing all of you a day when you can post about kicking your lyme to the curb. Now back to eating before my LO wakes up!
OH and even though according to my doctors/family members/all the folks that dealt with me that said what a horrible labor I had (and yes, I do - feel not so hot) I still believe that lyme was worse to deal with!!
