NUCCA head/neck alignment, anyone? (non-cracking chiropractic procedure)

YES! It's been wonderful for me.

I have been going to one for 25 years. My mother took me to hers - as she had headaches off and on for years. Regular chiro didn't help her. She never had headaches again...as long as she went every few months for a tune-up.

It even works for lower back pain.

How it works - makes sense. The atlas needs to be adjusted so that your head is on straight.
They do take an x-ray to see if you're out of balance first, and they do other tests - like is one leg longer, when you're sitting is one shoulder higher...and a few others.

When I first had my pinched nerve to my neck and I had excruciating neck pain - shooting up to the back of my head...I had it for several days...my chiro saw me twice - a couple days apart...and the pain was gone.

I'm lucky - my insurance pays 80% of the treatment.

My chiro doesn't charge if I don't need a treatment - which is often now...but he still spends about 10 minutes with me - because he has to evaluate me to see if I need an adjustment.

I have never known anyone to go to a regular chiropractor and not 'need' an asjustment. They always 'crack' your neck/back...whether you need it or not.

Prior to my pinched nerve incident - I hadn't been in to see him for about 2 years...which is a no-no. So, I was really "out", along with the fact that I had the pinched nerve.
I had two treatments the first week, then weekly for 4 weeks, after that I would go in every three weeks - sometimes I needed treatment, sometimes not, then it increased to going in every 4 weeks.
That all started in April, 2013. I still go monthly, but I usually only need to be adjusted every other time now. So about every two months I need an adjustment.
I trust him - he could just say I needed a treatment - how would I know otherwise? But, he doesn't. He is honest...and the times he just checks me out...are free.

My son had neglected to go for a few years, as well. When he finally went in a few months ago, he was complaining about headache and hip and leg pain. One treatment, and he felt great. But, he was supposed to go back a month later for a tune-up and never did.

Unfortunately, we wait until we're feeling really bad before we find our way back to him...lol.

My chiro charges for the initial x-ray - I think it's $125 - insurance doesn't cover that.
Each adjustment is $40. Not bad really. Plus, I get $32.00 back with my insurance coverage.
