Lyme Testing/LLMDs in Southern California

Hello everyone,

After a long road and several tests my most recent labs showed - 41 KD (IGG) Band - Reactive. It is the only band that shows is reactive. My primary doctor said that if I did have Lyme at least 5 bands would show reactive. Therefore, I am interested in any LLMD's in my area - Orange county or surrounding cities.

I contacted a Lyme literate doctor in Newport Beach but they are out of network and initial visit is $700 buckaroos!

Are all LLMD's out of network? We already pay for health insurance and would prefer to see a doctor that accepts it.

Hi Rae,

Most Lyme Literate doctors do not take insurance. I know it's expensive, but getting to an LLMD is important.

Most labs are not good at detecting Lyme. Also, it is hard to test positive for Lyme because Lyme and co-infections suppress your immune system and make it challenging for your body to make antibodies, especially in chronic cases. On top of that, the CDC has ridiculously high standards. There are also many other reasons why a person with Lyme may test negative.

An LLMD will be able to diagnose and treat you based on clinical symptoms. An LLMD may also order testing through IGENEX-a much more ideal lab for Lyme testing.

Hi there.
We are in San Diego. But see a natural path who mostly treats Lyme patients. He is in pismo beach. Does use antibiotics when needed.
Best to have igenex test. But think insurance does not cover. The lab corp test we did on my daughter was only igg. Think showed no reactive bands. Then months later we did igenex. Showed many more bands pos for igm. Think because she had been on antibiotics for a couple months.
We really like the llnd we see. My daughter has had great success with him. You can see him in person for your first visit. And then do phone consults after. Think initial visit 400. Then consults 185.
There are other llmd in the Los Angeles and San Diego area. Email me if you want names;)
