Good news I had to share

Just when I think I am going to be stuck like this forever, I found doctors who diagnosed me (clinically given rash and symptoms so I can start treatment, but also done bloods for confirmation and confections and to rule out anything that might overlap or hinder treatment),off to see what's going on in my brain with an mri, got a treatment plan, which may include picc depending on blood results, and had first rife treatment (herx included!!)

It was so nice to meet docs who know what they are talking about, didn't suggest I was crazy, and I got to attend the group meet afterwards, which is the first time I have met other lyme sufferers face to face.

Jeez, I feel 'human' again, sick but not mad, lol!!

Am going for next appointment next week, and can do skype consults when I go home.

I am extra happy, cd3764, as I had been warned that the doctor at the hospital would be disinterested, but he was actually really nice, engaging and didn't once suggest I was imagining it!!

I have always been an eternal optimist and this disease has really robbed me of that. I feel like I can start being hopeful again :)

I hadn't really heard of rife, except on in passing on this forum, happyjo.

Both the doctors are in tbe UK - The greek docs would determine I had completly lodt the plot!! The 'lyme doctor' I met with is a retired GP, she decided to get Lyme literate after becoming extremely displeased with having been unable to treat lyme patients as a GP without fear of recrimination. She suggests the trial of rife for treatment along with pulsed flagyl for now, and my herbal protocol, and after speaking with some of her patients I opted to give it a go.

The other doc I saw, who is doing all the tests to rule out/check for anything else is the infectious diseases doctor at the hospital. He agreed I had lyme, but is limited by the 'guidelines' as to what treatment he can actually offer. But since I get all the tests done for free (mri, thyroid, etc etc) this seemed a sensible first step but the NHS do not use rife.

Hence I am kind of mixing it up between the two doctors, though as they are both still registered practitioners they are perfectly willing to share info. Seems an odd way to go about treatment if you try and explain it to someone who has never battled their way through the red tape of lyme. But as folks here well know, sometimes you have to get a little unconventional!!

Just to add that I was herxing pretty badly after the rife treatment but had an appointment for a Swedish massage this afternoon. Right now I feel like a new person. Minimal symptoms, no fatigue, I can talk without slurring my words and the eye floaters have vanished. I know the flagyl may put pay to that, but hell does it feel nice to feel this well for now :)
