my son had yeast issues last spring and early summer. He did fluconazole for a month and it really helped.
But then also, this fall and winter I've suspected yeast had caused some motor ticcing, so I changed his diet to follow Dr. Bruce S.'s advice in his book, "An Extraordinary Power To Heal".
He gives a 4 stage diet to follow. I do stage 2 with my son (actually a combo of stage 1 and 2). big things he mentions are:
no vinegar, no malt (maltodextrin; in so much stuff), no msg, no vanilla, no chocolate, no apples, bananas, mushrooms or grapes, no aged cheese.
(he said grapes can "wreak havoc on children with yeast issues")
and I give my son about
3 teaspoons of unrefined virgin coconut oil a day. I second what opugirl said about
it making a difference and helping…I think it's made a big difference for my son.
oh, and kefir.
I know ticcing can be infection based too, but it's stopped 99.9% with these changes. I suspect the yeast was contributing to it and that the changes helped. oh and detoxing and taking chlorella each day.
and like others have said, you are taking good care of him!
