I totally get it. Andrew struggles with this constantly, feeling guilty he is not there, feeling bad he is letting everyone down including himself, not really wanting to go in that day... it just goes in circles. I keep reminding him what he is going through is VERY difficult and that most people will never understand, but he should not listen, just be proud of what he can do that day and know he's still brilliant and when he kicks this, and keeps it at bay, he will again be amazing and not upset with himself.
I can see where the timing stinks.
Dr. B (the famous one) is really good with letters and understanding mental issues as he is a psychiatrist. He saved Andrew in May and although his secretary is not to happy with me and my like 5 letters this school year since Sept., she still cranks them out and gets them to me.
May be worth the ride to see him and become his patient. He has people fly in from all over the country to see him and there was even one from Lancaster last time in the waiting room. He does phone consults between visits. Lymeinthecoconut said he is going to see him and mentioned being able to do phone work after that (and probably school letters) and HE WILL NOT IGNORE YOU OR QUESTION IT. He read ALL my paperwork, handwriting samples and all and discussed it and got Andrew on the right road!
