Experiences with Zithromax.....

I already used the search tool to review old posts. But I was wondering if any current members have recently tried Zithromax and if it helped at all. What was your dose? Side effects? Herxes? Anything else.......

Zith is popular with a lot of LLMDs cause it works well in combo with a lot of protocols. I think I was on it for like 2 years straight with different combos. I think it is easily tolerated, but not as strong as Biaxin. I took (1) 250mg tablet twice a day.

I am unable to take Zithromax anymore. It's too rough on my stomach.

I took it for awhile, hurt my stomach at first, just a sharp pain in it, lol, but then after a few weeks it quit. Took 500 mg once per day but now I am back on it with rifampin and I'm suppose to take 2 per day but the herxing got so bad on rifampin, that I haven't done my whole protocol like I'm suppose too.

I herxed bad on rifampin too! Bad anxiety and night sweats!

I have not tried this yet, it is phase 3 of my treatment plan so I can't share any experiences, but according to my LLMD, it is taken for the L-form/cell wall deficient form of Lyme and has a 65% response rate with his patients.

I've been on it for about 6 months. It was 250 a day at first and now it's 500. I take it with 300 rifampin and 400 plaquenil. The plaquenil messes with my stomach. The zith is the easiest to deal with for me so far.
