Is this a common thing with Lyme? I'm not sure exactly how else to describe it. I feel like I used to when I worked a stressful corporate job and had a crisis that needed resolving. I just feel stressed out and very "tight" inside. But I have nothing stressful going on. It's like adrenaline is constantly coursing through my body.
I just started treatment and this is a new feeling for me. It's not awful, but it is rather uncomfortable, especially since it's been 24x7 for a few days. Any ideas on how to get rid of it?

Could be anxiety. I had the same feelings when I was going through multiple tests with various "specialists". I found that ativan helped me relax enough to get to sleep

Have you had your adrenals checked by saliva testing? It sounds like they are starting to really struggle, which is (unfortunately) fairly common when a person is dealing with these infections.

I have a saliva test sitting on my counter - I keep forgetting to take it. I hope I can remember to take it tomorrow. Do they need to address this if my adrenal glands are struggling? What is the typical way of handling it?

Yes, it needs to be addressed or you will only get worse. The Adrenal glands are required to function in order for us to live - they control many of the processes of the body (including the fight or flight response!).
The most common way to deal with adrenals is for those with just "struggling" adrenals (they aren't down too low), usually use herbs or supplements that will support good adrenal health and encourage them to balance out.
For those with more advanced adrenal issues (like me) we have to have medication to help the adrenals function. There is a pharmaceutical medication and a natural medication that can be used. I am recovering using the natural med.
Please make yourself a HUGE note that you can't miss so that you can remember to get the test done and sent in right away!!

Thank you Traveler! I will most definitely not miss that test tomorrow, I never connected the "adrenaline" with adrenals, but it's quite obvious, isn't it?

Only when you've been there and done that!! LOL! That's what this forum is excellent for - there are enough of us that have gone through different things and have handled them in different ways that we can generally help people figure this stuff out!!
I'm glad you joined us and are a part of our community!!

Hi, and welcome!
I get the horrible fight or flight. Mine seems to correlate to my medications, as it's worse when I take new antibiotics or herbals. I use Xanax to get me through.
I have been on adrenal meds and herbs for 2 yrs now. They really didn't help me much, but other people swear by it! So it definitely works for some.
It really is no fun at all. I hope it blows over soon for you.
