Low WBC, high liver enzymes

I had my monthly lab work done today and some of my numbers are not in the ranges...does anyone have low WBC and high liver enzymes?

Could it be because of lyme disease itself...or the long-term antibiotics?

WBC = 3.0 (range 4.0-10)
neutrophylls (sp?) = 1.7 (range 2.0-7.5) - I think this is partly why my total wbc is low.

ALT (liver) = 87 (range < 50)

One cause of low white blood cell count is lymphoma. I know, I know...I shouldn't even think that, except that some of the symptoms are the same as ones I have - back pain, chills....

My WBC has been a tad low in the past 5 months - but only dropped to 3.7.

Same here, I consistently have low WBC and frequently also low RBC. I have read that low WBC is due to being on ABX and your body senses it doesn't need to produce them to fight infections so it does produce as many.

My ALT and/or AST are also occasionally elevated out of range. The first time my LLMD had m take a break from ABX. Other times we just retested and it cam back down on its own. AST and ALT have normal fluctuations and lab procedures also can vary results. 87 is not that high. Maybe take a week or so break and retest.

I just read a thread on bartonella symptoms. Boxermom posted that her LLMD gave her a list of bart issues...and at the bottom it said high liver enzymes, low wbc count.

Well, after my abx break...maybe i better give my LLND a call and get onto some rifampin, rather than wait another four weeks until my appt.....
