Feeling grateful for support

I have been thinking a lot lately about my plight, and how fortunate I am to have so much support in my life.

I have a husband who has never questioned the Lyme disease diagnosis...and is not putting any pressure on me to go back to work. He has accepted my limitations...and doesn't complain about the house, or the lack of meals.

Yesterday I went out with a lady I used to work with. She actually helped me get my job 6 years ago. She is an intelligent, thoughtful lady and I respect her a lot. We had plans to go for a walk and then sit at an outdoor coffee shop, that is set up along the walking path. An hour before our meet time, she texted me and asked if I was still feeling up to it, and she was flexible if I needed to change our meet to another day. Wow! She gets it!!!
We met, and talked a lot about lyme disease - especially my symptoms. She told me she had nerve pain in one of her toes for a month...and couldn't stand it...she said it was the worst pain she'd ever felt. She said, "I don't know how you've been managing with that nerve pain for over a year now...that must be so difficult for you."
She is a friend that I feel 'safe' with - if that makes any sense. For the longest time, I wouldn't go anywhere with anyone except my husband. - just in case I had a flare and needed to come home right away. I felt so vulnerable. But, with this friend, I know she understands.

And, this forum. I don't know where I'd be without it. Honestly, I may not even have tested by now...and started treatment without the information on this forum. The help, advice of the members, the wonderful moderators....

I have so much support in my life...I'm one of the lucky ones.

So happy you have support. That seems to be a main thing to get through this disease. It is great to have your family support you, but it's awesome to have amazing support from people who are going through the same things. What an amazing family we have here!

I, too, am very fortunate to have a supportive spouse, family and BFF :)

And, without a doubt, this is absolutely THE BEST forum....all because of the generous, caring and knowledgeable people on here.
