Are test results often negative while on abx?

I don't know why I am just now posting this as this was about three months ago, but after three months of continual abx treatment for some reason my doctor ordered a Western Blot and c6 Peptide Lyme test, which I did have done. All bands were negative, as well as the c6. Now, this was all through Labcorp. It seems like at least a few would be positive or IND, doesn't it?

Yeah they effect results. I think I emailed IGENEX and they said they like to have you off abx for about 6 weeks. Mine was also negative after abx with raging symptoms. Disease lives in muscle and tissue anyway.

My LLMD at the time my testing was done is the brother of the head of IGENEX. He also holds a very high position on IGENEX's board of directors. I was tested prior to any abx and then again after 6 weeks of abx without any break from the abx.
My first results had a few bands positive and a few IND. The second WB was positive and my IGM was CDC positive.
Their belief is that the abx (cyst busting abx) allows your immune system to see the Lyme and therefore create the antibodies the test looks for.
At least that's my understanding.

My son will she the LLMD (my former LLMD) for the first time on Monday. He finished Cefdinir a few days ago for an ear infection (10 days). I wonder if now is the best time to test with Igenex, or wait or try different abx mix for 6 weeks and than test. It's so hard to make a decision and his tests through regular labs (he had 2) were negative.

He had the rash, so I have proof of that, but not sure the LLMD will treat him based on the rash. I'm so tired and sick of waiting! He has been very sick for 6 months and I really need that test to be accurate! Every time he had short term abx for 10 days or 1 month for ear infections, sinus infections etc his pain level and other symptoms improve. It's very hard to keep waiting and waiting and waiting for those tests...
