Random skin indents?

I know Bart causes skin manifestations of many types. I get the rashes and scratches on and off.

Lately, on my legs I notice randomly a small "dent" will appear out of nowhere...then it will go away.

Anyone else get this or know if it's Bart related?

No one but your physician can legally determine what your skin conditions are caused from. If I were to have a skin rash, I would investigate my fatty acid metabolism involving the conversion of linoleic acid to gamma linoleic acid. Some people have a delta 6 desaturase issue, but bacterial desaturases can be produced in the GI tract by unwanted pathogens like H pylori.

I would evaluate how much omega-6 I was eating and try to get more omega-3. I would investigate whether I had an overgrowth of H pylori to see if that was an issue. IMO, a lot of us that aren't getting better have H pylori infections also. It's a spirochete like borrelia but lives in a completely different environment in the body. Treating one won't necessarily kill the other and their synergistic effects on the immune response are difficult to deal with.

My skin indents from the slightest contact. I'll wake up in the morning with sometimes upwards of 50 indents on my stomach and arms. Some like the ones on my arms have been very deep. My back will get them also from just sitting back on my couch. I think it's all from Bart with all the rashes I get including the scratches.

I get the skin indents too. They are for some reason all on my finger tips. I also think it's bartonella.

Georgia - I don't think helicobacter pylori is a spirochete. It's a gram negative bacteria.

Since h pylori is helical shaped does that mean it's not hidden by possible lyme bacteria on the stomach?

LP are you talking about the pads of your fingers? I have indents on them sometimes...this started a few months ago...never had them in the beginning of my symptoms.

Sometimes my fingers and have lines on them (not the backs, but the insides)as well as the pads.

ToddPaul, me too - If I lean back against the couch, my belt marks my waist. My skin wasn't like that before Lyme.

Is it the skin? or is it our muscle, or lack of?

My hands have lost their fat..or muscle...or both. and my veins bulge out. My hands look like they belong to an 80 year old.

Girlie - YES on the finger printing part of our fingers. I can just imagine if I was a criminal lol the cops would be looking at my finger prints thinking I have lots of indented lines! A very unusual finger print.

I'm just guessing it's bart... My hands dried up really bad. Also I didn't have them when i first got sick either. They started like a few months into treatment. They might be permanent, my lyme doc said they don't go away. (Another one of his patients had those)

Interesting Revive. It must be cold weather mixed with lyme disease...because I never had this in the cold weather before...
I hope when the weather warms up, it goes away. It's just another sign to remind me that I'm not well.

I wonder if the skin indenting easily is a side effect from any of the antibiotics, as abx can definitely affect the skin in different ways.

I'm wondering if it's maybe the antibiotics and lyme and cold. Because my first winter with lyme, i did not have the lines on my fingers, but this winter I do. Unless it's just happening from Advanced lyme infections.
