I'd treat for Lyme, ALS has no real treatment and lyme does. It's worth a try. Lyme sucks really bad, but I'm so thankful that it is treatable.

Definitely treat for lyme disease....

There are people who were diagnosed as having ALS, and were declining, until they went to a LLMD and were diagnosed with Lyme disease and improved on the treatment.

I also know a story of someone who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease...and it turned out to be lyme. An older fellow, who hunted every year. His lyme disease went into remission.

If it were me, I would not go to the neuro appointment...as there's not much he can do if it is ALS, right?
I would start treating lyme disease...a.s.a.p. and see if you have a response on the treatment : ie. either feeling a bit better, or a herx.

If you want to see the Neuro...maybe change the appointment for a few months down the road, and see how you feel then?
If it is ALS, it ain't goin' anywhere anyway.

If you think the Neuro will be ruling out other causes of your symptoms...that he hasn't already done...then it might be worth going...but if it's just to convince you that you have ALS...then it may just upset you.

The progression of ALS and Stage III Lyme is almost exactly the same. Aluminum often plays a bigger role in ALS but methylation is impaired in both conditions.

I would definitely treat for Lyme. And if it is driving you nuts, you can try and find a neuro who understands Lyme (is there such a thing), perhaps he/she will be better able to evaluate whether or not you have Lyme only or truly have ALS in addition to Lyme. Like others have said, chronic or late stage lyme definitely mimics very closely to ALS, especially if the patient is impacted by Lyme Neuroborreliosis.

It looks like he followed the dr Harvey protocol. Looking that up now to see what all tha included.
