Treating autism with antibiotics

I just came across this article. If this boy's autism symptoms are improving when he is treated with antibiotics, why wouldn't they consider than an infectious disease could be the root cause?

In one European study, 4 out of 5 boys with Autism responded favorably to antibiotics. With that said, Autism is more than just a bacterial disease, but Lyme is too.

I know someone else doing work on this with their son and it's helping.... wouldn't that be amazing. Parents want their children to at least be functional "in case something happens to me" they say... it really would be a blessing!

One of the first things I remember reading about Lyme is that many children with it are misdiagnosed as having autism or ADD/ADHD. I feel so blessed to have caught my son's Lyme so early, before his third birthday. He definitely exhibits some mild autism-like symptoms sometimes, as he is reluctant to interact directly with others, and he is SO absorbed with what is going on in his own little world. But he really is improving with treatment. It breaks my heart to think of how many parents are dealing with this but are being led down the wrong path, away from healing.

Our daughter was diagnosed in 2004 (age 3) with ADHD, sensory disorder (light, sound, touch), motor delay (with toe-walking), hypotonia and oral apraxia.

In 2010 (age 9) she was diagnosed by a different pediatric psychologist with ADHD, Tourette's, Aspergers, motor delay and probable PANDAS. PANS/PANDAS is not treated in Canada, so her exploration of that diagnosis stopped at "probable".

To her immense surprise this doctor had to withdraw all previous diagnoses except for motor delay since K's treatment. Abx/herbs for bartonella/babesia has resolved the remainder of the symptoms.

I am a huge believer in underlying infection and immune dysregulation (produced by infection, aggressive vaccination schedules, gut dysbiosis) being the cause of many autism symptoms.
