Questions about PICC/rocephin......

I tried orals for 6 months with no improvement at all. My symptoms are all neuro, no pain. My LLMD wants me to do rocephin IV's for 2 weeks, and then get a PICC if I show improvement.

Should I really show improvement after only 2 weeks? How long did it take you to notice improvement? Did you fail orals?

I find it hard to believe that 2 weeks of rocephin will do anything.

I got ceftriaxone (same as rocephin) for 6weeks too. My symptoms worsened until the 6th week. After the end of the treatment I felt better for a few weeks, but I do not know what would have happened if I got only two weeks.
Another person who also deals with suspectible chronic lyme (positive tests) got 2weeks rocephin and felt totally nothing, but her symptoms worsened for under ths two week! I do not want to discourage you, but I think two weeks is far-far not enough to judge the result. I think it should last minimum 4weeks.

I noticed improvements after 2 wks with IV rocephin plus orals also. Now I am still taking all that for about 8 wks and I do think my lyme is being hit hard!
