I'm sure something similar has been posted before, so.. sorry - I tried a few searches, and the majority of related threads were in the subforums more focused on GI issues, which, yes, I could probably be pulling some useful information from (and will) - though, I would like to get some input from you guys as well.
So, yes, people who've had (are having) trouble with things like motility issues, and the stuff coming along with 'um, constipation, how did you handle them, or how are you handling them now? Did it ever get to the point of causing an obstruction? What did you do?
Me, I have been having some issues for a few months now - I don't go often enough. When I do, very little, and it is a struggle. Sometimes, I feel like a lot needs to come, but it won't, and then the urge just goes away. Lots of pressure in the pelvic region, when I am trying to go.
I have tried diet, healthier options, especially for those dealing with constipation, more fiber, less fiber, lots. Most laxatives have no effect - milk of magnesia, Miralax (I was told by a doctor that you're supposed to take this regularly, to really see results, so I may try). Oh, magnesium oxide as well, which I am starting to take more regularly to see if that will change its effectiveness.
The only things that kind of work for me are the magnesium citrate drinks, but the problems persist after use. Also, enemas, but those only work on the lower bowels, right? Either way, nothing is lasting.
I've been recommended a few things, natural stuff, things I would like to try (peppermint oil, licorice, aloe vera, Mastic gum, some other stuff). But, you know, money is always an issue.
Ha, it took me years to finally accept that treatment, the chance of healing, was possible, and now it's like.. yeah, if you can afford it. Lol. Everyone who's paying for doctors and all the pharmaceutical stuff (for some, the alternative stuff too), I feel for you.
Anyway, I guess I HAVE to find a way to do all I can though, or risk dying, or just not healing/living with this crap forever, the Lyme and co, GI stuff, or everything.
I really would like to avoid getting some sort of serious blockage/deal with whatever minor ones that may be building up because of all this.
Any ideas?
I know this was kind of long, a big wall of text. I know your time is very precious. If you spent it here, even a little, I thank you. If you took the time to reply, even more thanks.
If not, well, okay..
Oh, I guess I should mention I should be getting an ultrasound of my abdomen and pelvis within the week, so I'll know a bit more.
SOMETHING is definitely wrong though, that's for sure, so I would like to get as many possible treatment pathways as I can from people who've experienced similar..
Again, thanks.
See ya..
