Would you take flagyl if you had really bad neuropathy?

Would you take flagyl if you had really bad neuropathy? I am on IV Rocephin right now and my doctor wants to add in IV Flagyl. I took oral flagyl for about 2 weeks a year ago and it made my neuropathy so bad it took months to recover. My doctor thinks it is a herx but I am skeptical because it has never taken me so long to recover and nerves in my hands were never the same. I don't want to do any further damage but the doctor is really pushing the IV flagyl.

Some people are finding that tindiazole is a better choice for them if Flagyl causes them problems. I found that to be the case for me, however, I didn't use them in IV form.

And yes, Girlie, neuropathy is listed as a side effect for both Flagyl and Tindiazole, but with neuropathy being a symptom of neurological Lyme and a result of herxes, it gets a little complicated!

Luna, while your doctor is no doubt weighing the side effects of the drug against the good it can do, be sure to voice your concerns. You really need to believe in your medicine!
