Lone star tick bite

My daughter (30 years old) just got bitten by a lone star tick on a Delaware beach. It's on a bird migration path.

I wouldn't ordinarily be concerned but for the fact that she did have Lyme as a child (successfully treated), and she just went through a terrible winter with multiple Strep infections and several other bugs.

What do you all think?

Kids -- they just worry you, don't they?

I would get some anx just to be safe.

Yes I would get abx or astragalus and/or cat's claw, at least. Why risk it? I wish I did this for my kids. My son got the rash and was treated with doxy for a month. It wasn't enough. I wouldn't wait to see if the rash appears or not. It may take a lot more treatment by then... Too soon, too early in the year to deal with ticks again :(

I'm so sorry! All I can say is I tried going without taking something to prevent re-infection, and I ended up back in treatment. Tell her that we almost never hear anyone say they wish they hadn't treated sooner. And treatment now means a shorter course than if she waits for symptoms.

And of course what protocol is up to her, what's important is that she gets treated. And best of luck to her!

And I agree, we never stop worrying over them! I have a daughter slightly older and a son slightly younger than your daughter, and I still worry over things with them too!

I would treat it. After this awful experience, I will never trust a tick bite. It will not hurt to treat it.

I just took Cats Claw, Astragalus and Extract of Oregano over to her. That should do the trick.

I would still take abx personally in this situation. Although I should have more faith in natural remedies I am somewhat biased just because of the way our medical system works and the influence it has on me.

AG- I'm sorry to hear that- I agree with giving her cat's claw, astragulus and oregano/thyme extract. I would add in high doses of vitamin c (3-4 g if her stomach can take it- with food), zinc, magnesium and copper. These are essential to support hundres of bodily processes, especially supporting the lymph and immune systems.
