Seasonal Alergies, after long ABX use? Never had before, and I'm no spring chicken.

Last fall I had eye allergies for the first time of my life. It was not pink eye (had test).

Then I got sniffles this winter than never went away. Almost does, but doesn't. It was finally 70f here last week, and I had a runny nose, no sneezing though. No green grass here, its starting though, so its allergy season.

Anyone else here develop this?

Can people develop seasonal allergies later in life?

I am not sure about seasonal allergies, but I have developed allergies to bleach, fish, aloe, and mushrooms after treating Lyme with antibiotics. Prior to that I consumed and used the items that I am allergic to very frequently.

I started having allergies after a long period of stress, impacting my adrenals.

Definitely lots of people develop allergies later in life. I just developed an avocado allergy and I love them! But I work in a hospital and am allergic to latex, some fruits have a bit of latex.
After having Lyme for about 4 years I developed uveitis, my eyes would ache, itch and throb, the worst blood red. I actually had cataracts develop and I had no risk factors for that type of cataract. It was just 2 years ago that an ophthalmologist asked if I thought the uveitis was related to the Lyme....I always thought it was connected but prior MD's would not admit to it. I went home and researched a bit and sure enough, now it is listed as one of the causes.
I take Claritin most of the time at work, there are so many allergins there. Most of us have to take Claritin or something else.
I heard just once recently that they have some indication that Claritin helps kill the Lyme Spirochetes, I have not had time to research it. That would be amazing if it helps!

I get sneezing and a runny nose so bad I think I am catching something and then the next day it's gone but then returns a few days later. This has been going on all winter and so far this spring. Everything around here is in bloom, grass is green and cut it over the weekend so maybe my old allergies are acting up.

My husband never had allergies before and now seems to have them or maybe it's just the Lyme causing all the congestion, sneezing, etc.

I am going through this now! My acupuncturist attributes it to my abx use. Been on them for 8 months (daily rocephin, bactrim & doxy)

It really does stink. I have the worst allergies of my life and I never had any issues with that kind of thing before - except when I was around cats. And even that allergy did not develop until my mid-twenties.

After trying several small sample packs of allergy meds that made me drowsy, I settled on generic Claritin (Loratadine -1/3 price). Forgot that this might go after lyme Too!
