Hi Annie,
To reiterate what Sarah said above, unfortunately I don't think there's any way to know for sure that the bacteria is gone except to see how you feel. The tests are designed to only identify whether the body is making antibodies to fight off the bacteria. The bacteria can hide out to the point to where the body stops making the antibodies (in my very rudimentary understanding/layman's terms), in which case the test won't pick up any antibodies and you will receive a "negative" test result.
If those body parts still aren't working I suspect you're still fighting it. But I do NOT want to take away hope, and wonder if this might be some lingering damage from what you experienced before. Do you know if you have suffered any nerve or other damage that could keep these body parts from working, even after the lyme has been wiped out?
I'm sure some more knowledgeable members will chime in, and hopefully some can suggest some good physical therapy for you. Best to you!
*Oh, and you will get more responses if you edit the title of your post. Maybe put "physical therapy?" in there or something...
