What antibiotic combo worked best for you? I'm curious

Before I start my abx treatment, I'm curious what worked for other people..

My LLMD wants to hit the lyme hard and prescribed my abx because he wants to take care of all 3 forms of lyme.

I'm prescribed minocin, azithromycin, flagyl, diflucan and a strong probiotic.. Has anyone else had this combo? Or success from it? Any herxing??? I know flagyl is going to be a problem.. My LLMD literally told me it'll make me "hurt".. Yikes..

Also my LLMD forgot to give me a handout on herbs and stuff like hat. Any suggestions for herbal teas or something to help fight these nasty little buggers????

Any advice/suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!!

I got really sick from Mino, felt drunk and my blood pressure shot up and I couldn't take it. So was switched to omnicef, zithromax and flagyl, this combo wasn't to bad. Then zithromax got switched to Biaxin, and it really killed off a lot but then I really started feeling better. Everybody is different and can tolerate different combos. Now I'm on rifampin, Zithromax and Tindamax (like Flagyl) and it really made me herx and feel bad but now after 3 months I feel better.

I've always been able to work, maybe didn't feel like it but still did it and then might need a big break or even took the rest of the day and did nothing.

Just start slow, one thing at a time and see how your body adjusts before moving on. Faster isn't better, it will slow you down. This is a slow and steady process.

Hi Alyrose,

That sounds like a pretty good combo... You will find that with lyme and co infections you pretty much have to be aggressive with antibiotic cocktails in order to get well.

One thing I might caution is if you take all of those right off the bat you might have a powerful herx. If I were you I would start off with just one and gradually introduce them. I would start with the diflucan to clear out your yeast first, then attempt the Zithromax until you are stable on that, then add in the minocycline (you might have bad psych herxes when you add this one in), and then finally add in the flagyl. That is just what I would do.

I found the best combo I was prescribed was minocycline + septra DS + tinidazole + Plaquenil... Lol it got me to about 90% well however I haven't had much improvement since then. I sometimes wonder if I should have stayed on that combo but it was pretty heavy and did make me feel toxic.
