naturopath or herbalist in NYC? herbs and ovarian cysts?

Hi everyone,
have been on herbs (now Cowden and some Zhang) since I stopped antibiotics (about 1.5 years)

Doing pretty well, thank God -- but not "clear" yet! (3 years since the bite IN FLORIDA AND IT WAS NOT A TICK!)

But now I have some painful ovarian cysts (at least 2); going for MRI to rule out bad stuff.

Starting to wonder if some of the herbs (Samento, Banderol, Houttyniana, Zhang R- 5081) might be messing with hormones? But I am 48, so maybe this is just age related . . .

Can you recommend a good herbalist or LL naturopath in NYC? Thinking I should run all this by them . .

More than just ticks can transmit Lyme Disease+ co-infections.

I agree! My husband and I saw the bugs: like little knats (of fleas?) hovering about some crab grass. then I seriously felt a bite -- like a needle going in. It was that exact spot that developed a raised, red and VERY itchy bump . . . so yes, it was not a tick! And as I mentioned, this was in Ft. Lauderdale . . .

I know, every doctor I have met focused on 'tick bite'.
I just say bit b/c I was bit on the back of my lower leg.
When I turned around to swat at it, it was already gone.
The bite hurt, it felt deeply painful!
It left a very painful bruise days later and it grew really large over the next weeks. Whatever bit me, gave me lyme, and I don't believe ticks do hit-and-runs.

My ND speculated that it was a deer fly and another doctor said the bruise looked like a spider bite. I don't know, but it sure gave me a severe lyme infection.

Thanks for posting, always good to hear others with a similar experience that didn't involve a stinky tick.

I'm sorry you got bit.

How do you like the Cowden protocol?
I did oral abx, Buhner's and IV rocephin over the last two years.
I am not done yet, either. I'm improved, but definitely not done.

~~I agree with your ND's speculation, Usedtogarden - sounds like a deer fly as they really hurt when they bite, so do horse flies, but they are much bigger, and slower!

Cowden seems to be working well. I have been on this line of herbs since about November, 2014. I think (?) I am still seeing some small gains in getting rid of the remaining symptoms. I had previously done some Byron White Herbs (radioactive!) and Beyond Balance. The doctor likes to switch things up.

Also focusing now on trying to chelate (slowly) heavy metals and deal with a virus. And it turns out our apartment has mold (rental in NYC), so we are looking for move this summer . . . So I guess I am one of those cases where layers just need to be slowly peeled off for full healing . . .

I am so grateful to be as well as I am (compared to where I was at first, in 2012), but I NEVER thought I would still be at this after 3 years . . . and boy is it time-consuming!

I know many of you probably feel the same way!

I am sorry you got bit too. I think people need to know that it isn't just ticks . . .
