I will do my best to give an overview of my history but as
most of you can relate, my memory is CRAP!
Symptoms began in March 2012( maybe even sooner) post sinus surgery. No
known tick bite. I was first diagnosed with gluten intolerance in Aug 2012 and
it ALL went downhill from there. I have
seen multiple Doctors, had probably close to hundreds of labs drawn, done
stool testing, saliva test, hair
analysis had my home water tested. You name it and I am sure I have been tested
for it. My ND diagnosed me with MULTIPLE food sensitivities, systemic yeast
overgrowth, adrenal fatigue, autoimmune thyroid disease, leaky gut, multiple
vitamin deficiencies, multiple heavy metal toxicities and low testosterone. I
know I am forgetting some but I am sure you get the picture of what the past 3
years has looked like for me. My
symptoms are far too many to mention. With going through the master list of
Lyme symptoms there aren’t many that don’t apply to me. All of the Doctors that I have seen,
including my ND a while back, have told me that there is nothing wrong with me.
Most recently I saw a rheumatologist who diagnosed me with non sero rheumatoid
arthritis and wanted to put me on a bunch of meds. I refused. I mentioned Lyme
and he LAUGHED in my face, said “that’s the latest thing that everyone is being
dx with”. He then sent me to see
Dermatologist because I have sores/lesions on my fingers, almost like what you
see with Lupus. My fingers get to the point where they are so sore I can’t even
write with a ball point pen because I cannot apply enough pressure to make the
pen work. The Dermatologist informed me
it is sensitive skin. He said I have the typical hands of a nurse who lives in
New England during the winter. SERIOUSLY?! This is not my first winter in New
England as a nurse, more like the 13th!! WHAT A JOKE!! A few months ago my ND recommended that I try
teasel root drops. It was her way of diagnosing me with Lyme. Based on how my
body responded, I was positive. At that point I continued with the drops and
added in high doses of chlorella. I thought that my ND diagnosis was enough to give me peace of mind but it
didn’t. I then decided to have my ND order labs with Igenex. My results came back on 05/06/2015. IgM WB 39
IND, 41 +/ IgG WB 39 IND, 41 ++, 58 + /Babesia FISH Positive. I met with my ND on 05/07/15 to discuss
treatment. Here is what the tx plan is
for now, in addition to Teasel root
drops and all of the other supplements that I have been on for my thyroid, adrenals
and gut. I also started on Low Dose Naltrexone in December. Currently taking 4mg daily before bed, hard to say if it is helping or not.
Allergy Research Group Artemesinin – 100mgcaps 5 capsules TID
2 days in a row each week for 3 weeks, 1 week off. Take with water and grapefruit juice. For 1
year.
Increase Chlorella – 20 tablets first thing in the morning on
an empty stomach.
Klaire – Factor 6 Ther-biotic probiotic – 1 capsule daily.
Nystatin – Keep yeast and sugar to a minimum.
Epson salt baths – at least 20 minutes 3-5 times/wk.
Dry skin brushing – before getting in the shower. Brush
toward the heart.
Does this sound like a typical start for natural treatment? I
have also been doing some research on Infusio but there is NO way I can afford
it. I am looking into the possibility of insurance covering tx considering I
have positive Babesia results. I am sure it isn’t going to get me far but I
figure it is worth a try.
I did my first dry brushing and detox bath yesterday and felt
HORRIBLE after. I stayed in the bath for 15 min, maybe should have only done 10
for my first time. Should I be drinking tons of water before, during and after
the bath? And should I take chlorella after the bath to bind with all of the
toxins I have just stirred up? I read somewhere that you shouldn’t eat, drink
or take any supplements right before or right after detox bath. Just wondering
if that is the rule that everyone sticks to. Also, my ND wants me restricting
yeast and sugar, I am already gluten free. Back in July 2014 my ND put me on
the Candida Diet and it was AWFUL!!! I lasted for 8 weeks and felt absolutely
NO difference. The only thing that changed was my weight. I looked emaciated.
It was gross. She is being nice this time and telling me to limit sugar and
yeast, not being super strict like back in July. What diet restrictions do other people follow?
What has worked? What hasn't? Sorry for the long post.
Thanks in advance for any info you can give!!
