Nothing is really guaranteed to work before your appt - but you can refuse the enema and tell him that you are working on it. I won't use an enema at all because it sets off horrible intestinal cramps for 3 days at a time. Since I'm the only one that has to live with them, I tell doc's I won't submit to enemas or any other thing that might start that with me. Amazingly they find other ways to do most things.
I have to take 1250 mgs of magnesium oxide twice a day to keep my innerds working - but that's a high dose for someone just starting out. You don't want explosive diarrhea!! It's painful and sudden!
You have to start off with 500 mgs and see if that works. If not, take 1,000 mgs and see if that produces results. If not, then 1500 mgs - but again, that's pretty high of a dose, so be careful.
I followed doctors instructions until I had tried a ton of things and they ran out of ideas. Then while I was trying to heal from Lyme, I was seeing a Master Herbalist. She told me that these herbs will stop intestinal cramping, but since I had been through so much, I was really, really skeptical - until it worked!!
1 ounce roasted licorice root
1 ounce peppermint leaves
1/2 ounce white peony root
Mix together and take 500 mgs (about 1/4 tsp) as a dose.
I buy and fill gel capsules as it's easier to deal with when using this long term and taking it 3 times a day like I need to.
You have to find your own dose too. I have to take 2,000 mgs 3 times a day - sometimes 4 if I'm under any kind of stress.
Please feel free to ask any questions!!
