OK, taking one more stab at this!
I saw a dr. yesterday that was highly recommended online. Everyone raved about his warm bedside manner and patience to listen to all your symptoms. Someone even wrote a newspaper article about their "mysterious" illness and how this doc was the first one to realize it was lyme disease. And he even takes all insurance--woo-hoo!!!! I went in hopeful.
He did greet me warmly, introduced his intern in the exam room, reviewed all my negative labs as well as my positive ones, scanned my 10 pages of personal health history I'd written up, was very thorough.
Then said my current positive test "could be positive from years ago", doesn't mean I currently have lyme. AAAARRGGHHHH!!! He reviewed my symptoms and said since they're mostly neurological to go see a neurologist. :-( He said the only way to know for sure if I have Lyme is to do a spinal tap. He said worrying about the tiny bit of discomfort from the spinal tap is worse than lyme itself. What the *#%! ?!?!? I mentioned the heart palps, he said, "Go see a cardiologist" and walked out of the room. End of appointment. Just like that.
I think he was too nervous to take me on and delve into why I'm still needing/seeking treatment. Goes against what he believes. Uuuuugggghhhhh so annoying! So the search continues...
