sarahm620,
Nausea and vomiting are awful. I've had tons of it, lost 40 lbs. in past few months, too. :-(
Ginger tea can help a lot, if you can take the "heat"--you can get used to it. Kinda spicy. But feels good to tummy. Recipe I use:
Buy fresh ginger, make sure it looks fresh and "plump," not dried out and shriveled. Watch out for nubbins, dry rough spots, etc.
Use about
the equivalent of @ 1/4 C of ginger chunks, peeled. (I like to "bruise" it a little by putting a knife blade flat against the chunks and smash it a bit to release the ginger goodness. :)
Simmer in water for 20 minutes or so. ( a quart or two, depending on how much you want to reduce it to concentrated tea, or to taste--it can take a bit of playing around to get it to where you like it.
Strain the tea; if you want to put some raw honey into it, make sure tea isn't too hot--it will kill off the good "stuff" in the honey.
There are some good prepared teas out there--I have them on hand at work for when I get nauseated. Yogi brand is my favorite (has more gingeriness to it--not trying to sell it!) lol
Hope this helps (sometimes I just go ahead and "let it all" out to reduce stomach acid created by the little buggers and then the tea is soothing, but that's what works for me. Blechh!)
