Treatment

I played field hockey too in HS! Although not being treated for Lyme. I would stick with it as long as possible and go to your coaches and explain the situation. It's possible you can continue to play and practice with your team and just sit the games out. You may have to take more breaks during practice and may even miss a few but most coaches and teams are more than happy to accommodate their teammates during long term illnesses and treatment like this. Even if it means going to practice and doing some of the drills that don't require running up and down the field (like corner shot/ goal shots from the circle). My suggestion would be to talk to everyone in your life you will see this treatment affecting you and explain to them upfront. I have found with my daughter that most people know about Lyme but they have no idea how intense the treatment can be. Our LLMD described it as almost like cancer treatment in that you feel much much worse before you start to get better. And a lot of people don't expect that out of Lyme treatment.
