Info about lyme disease

I don't have lyme disease yet, well, that's what I know. However, it is a growing concern here in Australia. I want to learn more about it, the prevention, symptoms, treatment, etc. I've been doing research on the Internet but I can't find a decent source so far. Where do you get reliable info about the disease? I would appreciate any recommendation. Thank you!

MarcJohn: You will see conflicting viewpoints all over the internet about whether chronic lyme exists or not. What I know is that there are many people on this site and others like it who've done the treatment recommended by the US's CDC, and we are all still sick, otherwise we wouldn't be on this site and would be living our lives. Some people do get 100% better with the CDC's recommendation, but everyone is different. There are so many factors that go into the chronic lyme (duration of infection, biofilm, cyst, coinfections, MTHFR mutations) that are poorly understood by traditional health practitioners.

Here is a link to a page from ILADS. This organization advocates for chronic lyme and has it's own treatment guidelines. Good luck with your research and feel free to ask more questions. Us people on this forum are more than happy to help others understand this horrid disease.

I'm new to lyme too, and have been doing lots of research. I understand more about it after reading the preface in Out of the Woods (and the treatment sections) than I did from weeks of searching elsewhere. The preface especially was concise, authoritative, extremely clear. I also requested Horowitz's book on lyme from the library and think that will be extremely helpful.
