Why are LLND/LLMD's allowed to write long term prescriptions for patients with Lyme Disease and doctors are not?

Because they do not take insurance, they are not bound by contract to treat within medical guidelines

All doctors can prescribe long term prescriptions (think insulin and blood pressure medication) but in the case of antibiotics, it goes against popular belief and CDC guidelines to prescribe long term so the regular doctors do not want to stick their necks out for us and get into trouble (perhaps lose their licenses).

LLMDs can still lose their licenses for doing it but hope to do it under the radar by not working with insurance companies.

Well, sometimes they do with antibiotics. Tuberculosis is treated with Rifampin for sometimes 20 months according to my GP - it call comes down to the medical community's ignorance about lyme disease.
