New Here....Hi!

I am new to the forum. I am trying to find some answers as I suppose we all are :)

I live in Elizabeth City, NC

I was bitten by a male lone star tick. on MAy 11th

May 15th I woke up tired. Really tired. I'm usually excited about getting to school, but that day I wasn't.
May 16th I woke up with a panic episode on a scale of 1-10 an 11. I took a xanax, which I normally can ride my episodes out. It was my sons birthday and I just could seem to pull it together for his 3rd birthday.
May 20th and 21st I started experiencing wrist pain that felt like corpal tunnel. it went away. I also felt neck stiffness
May24th I started getting a metallic taste in my mouth
May 25th should and elbow started hurting....felt like tennis elbow and tingling in the same arm.
May 26th FINALLY went to DR. Put me on Doxy 200mg per day. All test came back negative. wrist pain came back, but worse.
May 30th shortness of breath, chest felt heavy
May 31st Decided to take doxy on an empty stomach to try and get as much of the antibiotic in my system. BAD idea. I was doubled over all day. I called the dr. told me to skip the next dose of Doxy and take it in the morning.
Jun 1 I woke up not feeling nauseated anymore, but lower abdominal pain. I assumed from my stomach hurting. my backside was hurting also. I started the Doxy again. And was having shortness of breath (feeling anxious a little, I'm thinking maybe the coffee I've become more sensitive??)
I woke up at midnight with a panic episode. took a xanax (.25mg) it helped a little. I eventually got to sleep maybe 4am, but woke up again at 5am with another panic episode. I didn't take another xanax. But I am super tired.

I want to go back to the drs, but I feel like they look at me like I have a 3rd eye. The round of doxy is only for 10 days. I just keep hearing the test turned out negative. The also looked at my WBC and platelettes I guess that showed nothing as well. Up until this point I have been a pretty healthy person.

My question is Do I go back to the Dr again explaining what Ive been experiencing since I last saw him and try to convince him to increase my Doxy and make it a longer course?
I tried calling another dr, but they said I needed a referral.
Any suggestions on my next course of action would be great.

Where would I send the tick off for testing?

You definitely need more doxy. I'm thinking you were given 100 mg twice daily? You need 200 mg twice daily until symptom free plus one month - a minimum of 6 weeks is necessary.

I suggest you start a new thread titled "Looking for LLMD in/near_______" and fill in the blank.

Only a LL Dr. will be able to evaluate, and treat you effectively for lyme disease.
It's still early for you, so don't wait - waiting will only make the infection worse and lengthen your treatment time.

You can also contact ILADS (International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society) - they will email you names of some LLMD's in your area.
