Is there any daily vitamins that are good to take daily for Late Stage Lyme? What about any herbal teas I could drink throughout the day? I was just diagnosed with Lyme Disease (symptoms 5 1/2 years now) almost a month ago. Just finished my 3 weeks of doxy a couple days ago (I know, no good) And will be seeing a LLND in the near future. However, I'm just wondering if there is anything I can do for my body in the meantime to help keep the Lyme bacteria to a minimum/fight it off?

I have a few things I'm already doing which are :
Lots of lemon water everyday
Detox baths with Epsom salts
Trying to get enough sleep every night
Limiting sugar and trying to eat healthier

Mister Mike - my worst symptom is off balance feeling (unsteady feeling like a bobbing feeling and it feels like im standing on a dock, lightheaded) as well as heavy headed brain fog and tired. Sometimes I have to baby step around because I find it so hard to walk...

JessicaMommy - If you like drinking teas, you could try the Chronic tonic - Traveler would help you with that.

Or, you could order some of the tinctures/capsules - and follow Buhner's protocol for lyme.

Main herbs: Japanese Knotweed, Cat's Claw, Eleutheros (Sib. Ginseng)

If you go to his website the core protocol is listed there, and the sources he recommends.

Girlie : I do like drinking teas. Is Chronic tonic something I can pick up in grocery stores or Shoppers Drug Mart (here in Canada)? Is Japanese Knotweed, Cat's Claw, Eleutheros (Sib. Ginseng) something I can pick up at my local Drug Store off the shelf?

daddylonglegs: I haven't noticed any positive effect from the doxy. I just stopped taking it 2 days ago and from what I've read it can take months to notice symptoms decrease after taking it for Late Stage Lyme (according to the CDC). Generally it is not a effective treatment for late stage lyme - doctors treat early lyme and late stage the same with a 2-4 week course of antibiotics - ridiculous, that is why so many people need to seek help from a LLMD/LLND for further treatment of either antibiotics or herbal protocol for their late diagnoses of Lyme. I cannot find one success story on the internet that 2-4 weeks of antibiotics cured their late stage Lyme Disease and I don't know anyone personally that this has worked for - I just know the opposite happened; it didn't work.

Now if my Lyme Disease was caught early, then the doxy more than likely would of worked.

Hi JessicaMommy,
No those herbs are not something that your local grocery store or drug store would carry. Most of us order these herbs online. We have a list of online companies that members have had good experiences with in the "New to Lyme?" thread.

Basically, if it's going to make a difference in chronic Lyme, you will likely have to order it online or get it through a practitioner or herbalist.

LOL! "it can take months to notice symptoms decrease after taking it for Late Stage Lyme (according to the CDC)" That's so crazy, isn't it? Ohhh, if only they would get their facts right!!
As if they would expect pneumonia to clear up with minimal abx and then make the patient wait for months before trying anything else.
