looking for Llmd in Austin TX & antibiotics, herbs or both?

Hi,
I'm looking for a Llmd for my daughter in Austin, TX. Trisha was treated with antibiotics from 2010-2012 with a Llmd in NY state and her main symptom of joint pain was much better but now has become very uncomfortable for her again.

I really don't want her on antibiotics long term again but not sure if herbs are enough on their own. Traveler was kind enough to share a bit of what she's experieced with herbs, anyone else have an opinion on this? I plan to read Buehners (sp) book asap.

Hi Lori, I am apprx 5 hours west of Austin, there is only one ILAD's trained LLMD in Texas, a few hours away from your daughter.
I have not seen him yet, I have an appt at the end of July. I have been on Doxy 200mg two weeks, and I started Buhners protocol for Lyme last Saturday. I am seeing some improvements.
I am to start IV Rocephin next week for 30 days.
Still continue with Buhner during and we will see what comes next.
I think both help but understand that everyone's body is different.

only one llmd in Texas, really? that's awful. I read Buhner's book today and feel a bit more confident at putting my daughter on it, so much reading and decisions, can be so overwhelming, can't it? We don't have a dr for her at all right now, i wish she would have kept up with her dr here in NY, they had appt's by face time, although I really don't want her back on antibiotics if we can avoid it, not sure if that's possible but I'm going to try. Id like your dr's name though, just in case she doesn't get enough relief from the herbs. I hope she/he is promising, but maybe you'll get enough relief from Buhner's protocol that you won't need antibiotics, we can hope.

Thank you Traveler, I love chocolate although i can't eat it as often as i used to.

Another question, my daughter tested positive for babesia in 2010, tested negative one year later after mepron treatment. Could I assume that co-infection is gone, or could it have re-emerged? Was wondering if I should put her on Sida Acuta to be sure it's gone. Or should I just put her on the core protocol and not worry about the babesia for now?

Lori - start with the core protocol for now. You will want to start low - don't start with the full dose that Buhner has listed on his website.

That will take several weeks to months ...as you want to raise the dose of each one individually....and you don't need to go to the maximum dose that Buhner has in the protocol, either.

Once you've been on the Lyme protocol for awhile, you can add in one of the babesia herbs (again low dose to start).

I don't have the answer regarding babesia testing - are her babesia symptoms gone?

Hey iheart how are you feeling? Up to 2 caps 3x day on Buhners protocol now? How are you tolerating it? My daughter doesn't seem to be ready to start yet so I decided to take the Japanese knotweed myself. I've never been diagnosed with lyme but pretty sure I have it, so going to give the protocol a go

I am improving, I hate to get all excited because it seems as soon as I do I feel bad again, Lyme & Co have a way of tricking you.
I am currently on IV Rocephin, will be done as far as I know on the 23rd. I stopped taking the LYme protocol because I was having some herxing I didn't like at all, I just on Friday decided to add in the Bart and Babs herb, Sida Acuta, I had purchased awhile ago and never taken it. After much prayer contemplation and reading here on the forum I realized that I needed to treat them. The way it was explained to me was that when one of the bacterial loads is brought down another emerges as the most prevalent one.
I was having symptoms of Babs even though testing negative for it and I tested borderline for Bart, Sida Acuta is used for both by Buhner.
I have Hawthorn as well but going slow as I need to be functional and I have learned the hard way. Hahaha!
The antibiotics are helping so much for Lyme I am looking to figure out what the plan of the Dr that prescribed them to me is, I have a feeling he is going to say welp all done after 30 days.
I have also ordered the additional things from Buhner for the co-infections that I lack just waiting for them to come in and add them in slowly.
One of the things that has improved by treating the co-infections is my intense leg pain has gotten 80% better. Thankfully.
I also detox every single day, I think that has done wonders.
Did you get your daughter an appt with the LLMD that I sent you the info on?

Iheartx, no I have done all the research and told my daughter about these herbs but she hasn't expressed enough interest to start now. It's so hard having to be patient and wanting to help her so much, but she's just not ready yet. Because she's already done a few years, I think 2 1/2 on antibiotics I don't want to go that route anymore. When and if she's ready to do this protocol them we'll see how it goes and if it helps enough then we'll rule antibiotics out more or less for good. If the herbs don't help enough them we'll consider them again. You were taking the combo pull from Green Dragon, right? I didn't get that, decided on butting the 3 core herbs singly because that's what Buhner is now recommending on his web site. I think people's were having bad side effects from the Andrographis (and I think it's in the combo pill)

Hi Lori - Getting the herbs singly is important - at least when she's starting out...because she should be starting one herb at low dose before adding in the second herb at low dose...etc.
That way, if there's a reaction, it will be known which one is causing it.

Hey Lori yes I did the combo pill from Green Mountain. That's what I stopped taking.
I have been taking the Eleuthero tincture almost from the beginning because of my low energy levels and just added the Sida Acuta last week.
I had some Resverotrol that I took way to much awhile back and haven't take any more of, I recently started taking that just because I have it and don't have the Japanese Knotweed individually. And I am only taking the Resveratrol at 500mg a day.
Looks like I will order some by it's self.
The Sida Acuta tincture is 1/3 of recommended dose split into 3 times a day, the 1st day I took it I just took 1/3 of a full days dose all at once and I was feeling flu'ish and my brain got a screwy on me so I decided to split it up throughout the day.
Today I woke up at 5:50, Urg! Slow start but about noon I've been busy cleaning and actually mopped all my hard wood floors, so I must be improving! 😊

Please let me know how it is going and if I can do anything to help.
