Yes. The standard lab tests are inadequate in their testing.
Here in Canada, we have a two-tiered testing. First test is IFA - if negative, Western Blot not done.
I was negative...so that was it - CDC said i don't have lyme disease.
I tested a couple months later, and I was Igenex positive. Their testing is more sensitive, and I believe they test more strains.
So, yes if you do a Igenex Western Blot, you have a better chance at a positive...but even if not truly positive, you could show some positive bands.
