Yoga would be great! I'm planning on doing yoga and pilates as I get back into things. Right now transitioning and rotating some new meds so I'm herxing harder and trying to find a tolerable equilibrium so exercise is a bit on the back burner.
If you can't manage the herxing, like I said before, don't feel you aren't allowed to give your body a break from the meds to catch your breath. I've made that mistake of just wanting to push on, that is just my nature, but over time I've really come to appreciate the value in taking little mini breaks when my body and the herx get too out of control. Otherwise, if I keep pushing, things get overwhelming and I get really trapped by the herxing and the anxiety and fears and neverendingness of everything and not sleeping really starts to break me down, physically and psychologically.
One of the things that helps me during a bad herx is this thought: I'm hitting this illness square in the jaw, and really yanking it out by the roots. And I just think, HOORAY! I've found effective meds that are working! and that is an exciting thought for me.
Keep doing your thing! you'll make it thru this thing :)
Btw, it's really hard for me to read when I go thru an insane herx. But I do try and read when I can, recently I'm trying to add in some inspirational positive thinking sort of books. That stuff can be kind of helpful I find! One of my favs is Thich Nhat Hanh, simple but reassuring and peaceful. And I ordered this book which I'm excited to read: http://www.amazon.com/The-Book-Awakening-Having-Present/dp/1573241172
