Where to But an Affordable Wheelchair?

I am looking into buying a wheelchair, however my budget is tight. I want one that is decent in quality, but affordable. I am just looking for a standard manual wheelchair, nothing fancy. I don't care whether it is somewhere close (Lancaster, PA) that I can go to a store and purchase one or online that I will have shipped to my house. Let me know if any of you have purchased a wheelchair, and if so where you got it. Thanks.

Sometimes stores that deal with medical devices like that will have used ones for sale. Check your local paper's classified ads and Craigslist (Have someone go with you to look at one if you find one, or meet up at a public place). I'm sorry you need one, but I hope you will find one without too much hassle. Getting one locally will allow you to try it before you buy it, so you eliminate having to return one you got online. I have seen the fold up variety in Walmart & Walgreens in the $100 range & I know some get creative with pieces of tempurpedic & pillows to soften. I had to get one before for a parent coming from the hospital. I ended up donating to a local thrift shop (one that helps animals) so you might find elsewhere. I hope you are doing ok?

If there is any kind of care network in your area they might have one that's been donated. Like happyjo my family donated one also. I think it's pretty common.
The medical supply stores may sell refurb or gently used models at reduced prices.

We purchased several health products from the local Goodwill store. Was very reasonable. Perhaps you can call the store first instead of visiting in person.

We got one about 5 yrs ago when we were going to Disney... It was ordered from Walgreens and I found it in the Sunday ads...

It's been nice to have for malls, museums etc... I want to say it was $200, maybe less...
