Hello!!!

Hey everyone! Sorry I have been MIA for a while - I figured I was due for an update

There are a good number of newbies on here - but for those of you who do know me, all is well, I was swamped with end of the school yr activities with the kids, and now that they are off for the summer, I am just busy enjoying it with them!

A big HOWEVER - I have NOT forgotten about Lyme, nor have I let a day pass without talking about it with someone.....
I haven't been on the forum, bc every time I am on the computer, I am working on my son's school yearbook (I volunteered to create one on shutterfly - very time consuming, and its almost done!! yay!!)

And another reason why I haven't been on the forum - because I have literally been busy with local Lyme disease patients. This week alone I received a referral from my Dr (third one thus far) - spoke to him today for almost an hr on the phone, got a request for help from my brother in law who's friend has lyme, someone else asked me what to look out for in children who may have lyme at the town pool yesterday, I have been receiving emails from forum members with questions......the list goes on and on. I have to say it is time consuming, but worth every minute of my time - I am more than happy to be helping everyone. I have spoken to three people in the past 2 weeks over the phone - at least 45 min each conversation to support and help them. I have pretty much become the Long Island/NYC Lyme spokesperson, LOL. I have to get over to the meetings in the fall when I have more time and get more involved. I am never going to forget about this disease, I will only become more and more involved as time goes on.

As for my health, well, I will just quote my husband - he said that I look better and more in shape than I did before I got sick - couldn't ask for more of a compliment!!!

What I did was, after I did the 40 mile bike tour in May, I no longer was getting the pinchy painful feeling in my muscles (that was happening everytime i tried to workout with weights). So I decided to give the 21 Day Fix Extreme program a try (an at home DVD weight lifting program), and it did wonders for me - I got my muscles back and then some!! I feel great and have plenty of energy!

Do I have any leftover issues? just one - my shoulder is still bugging me, but I frankly don't have the time or money to do anything about it at the moment. It isn't debilitating, doesn't slow me down, but it's annoying. So when the fall comes, I will see what I am going to do. My LLMD says it is nerve damage (pinched nerve) and leftover inflammation which will heal in time. She wants me to see a Chiro, but that is at the bottom of my to do list right now!!!

That pretty much sums it up!! Since I am just about done with the yearbook, I will be coming on here more often - any questions for me, please don't hesitate to ask!!!

I'm so glad to hear that you are busy with life after Lyme! Thanks for the update - gives the rest of us a little boost. :) Bravo to you for getting the word out. It's shocking to me still how little people know about Lyme even in this endemic area (NY). Great to hear such a positive update! Yay!

So good to hear that you are even stronger/healthier than the last time you posted an update!

...and thank you for coming back to let everyone know - we can beat this...and there is a good life waiting for us after lyme disease.
