Candigone or paragone?

Has anyone used either Candigone or Paragone? Everyone raves about them in online reviews, but I don't know how legit the reviews are. I was thinking of trying one while I wait for my LLND appointment to see if they help relieve any symptoms I have, which are likely to be yeast/parasite related.

Hi Living in,

The problem with that brand (in my opinion) isn't whether it works or not; it's that each product contains too many ingredients!

When I took Candigone, I got REALLY sick.

I now have parasites (ugh) and I was looking at the Paragone ingredients. There are too many things in there that would make me herx.

If you have issues with Candida, try a candida diet and/or Nystatin.

For parasites, I've heard that the best thing to do is to get a prescription for Ivermectin. Failing that, you can simply take Artemisia, Black Walnut Hull, and medicinal Cloves. Right now, I'm simply using Activated Charcoal, Psyllium, and food-grade Diatomaceous Earth for my parasites, and waiting to hear back from the doctor.

Sometimes, less is more.

Ok- good to know! My LLND put me on a parasite cleanse with berberine capsules and a tincture similar to the paragone one (called para-a), but with less ingredients. By the time I got to the full dosage a couple of days ago I was vomiting and nauseous and couldn't get out of bed for 3 days (despite that I was detoxing). I put the dose back to half yesterday and feel a bit better today, but the thought of eating/taking anymore of the tincture makes me feel sick to my stomach.
My LLND doesn't prescribe abx, so I'll have to go a different route to address the parasites if the herbals don't work.

Regarding the Candigone:
As Margaret mentions, the quantity of antifungals, in the case of Candigone, is a little bit of an issue. On the one hand, it saves troubleshooting trying to target which yeast/fungal strain to treat so for some you could have an effective outcome (although depending on your level of overgrowth, the die off could be pretty miserable since there's no way to slowly work up to a max dose when all the doses are the same…)

But also, if it's taken long-term and doesn't quite quickly eliminate the overgrowth, the yeast/fungus can very easily develop resistance to everything in it, which leaves very few options for natural remedies, given all the ingredients.

So, I'd recommend that if you really need to address an already present yeast/fungus overgrowth, it's best to skip the natural remedies. These are best used for prevention and maintenance—if you try tackling an already existing overgrowth w/ natural remedies, they're usually not strong enough and you could "waste" the efficacy of some really good natural remedies by trying to force them to deal with a tough situation and conditioning the yeast/fungus to grow resistant to them.

So, I always suggest to start with a PURE Nystatin powder, which has several benefits: you can start with small doses that will help you manage what could be extreme reactions to die off and herxing, and work up to maximum doses; it's pure form is much less expensive than the other forms of Nystatins and safer to take without the fillers and sugars the other forms contain; since it's a powder, it helps coat your entire alimentary canal—from your mouth, down your throat and yes to the nooks and crannies of your intestinal tract where the yeast can hide, and pills can't do that and the liquid contains a ridiculous amount of sugar.

Here we go with that PURE NYSTATIN POWDER again -P. It sounds like the drug to end all drugs! LOL, just kidding!

I'm certainly going to try that; will email you to get the details. I took a Nystatin pill today, just to see if anything happened. I plan to build up VERY slowly.

Yes LivinginCT, I know about that reaction. That's why I never tried the combo of three that's supposed to work: Artemisia, Black Walnut Hull Tincture, and Cloves (for parasites, not for eating). I know that combo is going to make me herx like crazy.

I haven't heard from my doctors yet, so I've been taking food grade Diatomaceous Earth and doing garlic and apple cider vinegar enemas (the enemas I do separately).

I'm not very keen about taking the Diatomaceous Earth internally, as it may contain heavy metals, but I've got to get rid of the parasites.

I tried taking activated charcoal and psyllium, but I bloated so badly, I felt terrible, and thought I might float off like a big old balloon. Actually, I think it was the psyllium that did that, so I'm never taking that sh-- again!!

The activated charcoal helps, but only when I take it every day. Otherwise, the wormy vermin come back even stronger.

I need to figure out some good heavy metal cleanses, and find a biological dentist (I know there are some in the Triangle area of NC, but probably can't afford).

Oh, the Renew Life formulas really pile stuff on, and use too many herbs (in my opinion). Those cleanses have made me really sick. However, there heavy-duty probiotics are good, and I would recommend those, esp. in combination with something like Florastor, and maybe kefir.
