So I've read some posts on here about cat's claw affecting the gut flora and decided to do an experiment. My expierement was to get about 4 ounces of milk and put it in the cup. I had 3 four ounce cups of milk. One with 4 caps of renew life bifido probiotics and 1 jarrows ideal bowel support( L. Plantarum 299v). One cup with the same amount of probiotics but with ~9 grams of cats claw powder mixed in. And one control with just 4 ounces of milk. I let them sit overnight.
The results were interesting. There was more fermentation with the cat's claw than there was in the other probiotic milk. The control was obviously the same.
My conclusion was that cats claw powder acts as a prebiotic and doesn't seem to kill off much gut bacteria if any.
This is also interesting considering our bodies dilute the cats claw and the expierement was in constant contact with the cats claw.
Just thought I'd post my results to the people wondering
