Fallout from a bad day

Yesterday was a rough one....actually the trouble started the night before around 10pm. I went out for baby's feeding...and found diarrhea. To make a long story short, I was up every hour to keep her hydrated. I did nap between, but between the stress and such...I got maybe an hour of sleep. Then a long day of keeping her hydrated before the vet could see her. That went pretty well.

So....my stomach was also extremely upset too and I had some similar symptoms (diarrhea, lack of appetite, fever/chills, etc) which lasted all day. It's virtually impossible for me to eat a normal size meal. I felt ok at the 5am feeding.....but I woke with a 100 degree fever at 10. I just ate breakfast...and my stomach is a little crampy (baby also gets uncomfy after a meal).

The question is....what's the cause? Do we have the same thing?

Could it be babesia or bartonella for me? I do have a bit of a head pressure headache. I also felt kinda babesia-y earlier in the day before I saw her diarrhea.

Or maybe because I ran out of my raw milk and yogurt a couple days ago....and not having that has messed me up?

Needless to say.....I'm resting as much as possible and trying to rehydrate.

I slept from 11:30pm to 5 am and 7am to 10am. It. Was. AMAZING!

I got a sample from baby, since cryptosporidium or giardia could be contagious from her to me. Covering all bases there. Sorry if this is tmi....but we both have similar smelling diarrhea.

I know I need to slow down, and I'm working on that. Just gotta keep going until that can happen.

I sure am glad I'm just sticking to 1 artemisia with dinner. It still makes me herx...and upping it to 2 would be bad.

She hates the electrolyte and kaopectate, so I have to tube feed those. And boy is she angry! Very twitchy and growls up a storm. I feel bad for her....but I gotta get it in her. Syringe feeding by mouth just makes her into a pink spewing volcano! She does like her milk syringes, which is nice. And oddly enough she likes the biosponge too. Kinda strange, but I'll go with it.

It's a good thing she's a sweet, chill baby. I had a very twitchy and angry one several years ago...and he fought me tooth and nail for his bottle feedings. I'm glad I never had to tube him, or we wouldn't have survived. And yes, I still have scars from his toenails scratching up my arms and legs.

And they air spit too! Much, much cuter than adult spit.

She's not at all down with the whole subq hydration thing. Got more growling and a little air spit too.

I think I'm going to drink a lot of aloe juice for myself.
